About the IAQ

The City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate and Diploma in Idependent Advocacy was launched in April 2009

The Independent Advocacy awards (QCF 7566) have been developed by City & Guilds in collaboration with the Department of Health.

They are aimed at people who currently provide independent advocacy support or who are just starting off in the sector and it is envisaged that they could be suitable for people who use advocacy skills as part of another role.

The IAQ is made up of a combination of Core and Specialist Units.

  • To achieve the Level 3 Certificate in Independent Advocacy, candidates must complete the 4 core units plus 1 specialist unit
  • To achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Independent Advocacy, candidates must complete the 4 core units plus the IMCA and DOLS optional units
