Advocacy Manifesto
'A Manifesto for Advocacy Services in England and Wales'
'A Manifesto for Advocacy Services in England and Wales' sets out a series of core beliefs relating to advocacy services and a number of expectations in respect to our sector?s relationship with Government at all levels (local, regional and national). A great deal of work has gone into ensuring these expectations are realistic and achievable. They form the basis of a programme of work which we expect will transform advocacy services over the next 5 years.
This manifesto was developed following a national sector-wide conference held in March 2010 and organised by Action for Advocacy, British Deaf Association, Dementia Advocacy Network, Gateshead Advocacy and Information Network, Age Cymru Elder Abuse Project, Advonet, Newcastle Advocacy Centre and the Older Peoples Advocacy Alliance. Responses to the subsequent consultation were also received from regional advocacy networks, advocacy schemes and individual advocates.
